School Board Meeting, October 12th
The Ord Public School board had a fairly uneventful meeting on Monday night but there were a couple of things that bear mention.
Clay Burgess asked a question concerning last months school board meeting in which the board adjourned at 9:15 PM in order to conduct a Building and Grounds Committee meeting. Because the public is NOT allowed to sit in on Committee meetings, the room cleared. The board members who were not on the Building and Grounds committee did not leave the room at that time however. They stayed for an additional 1 hour and 23 minutes with no one from the public present to observe.
Considering KNLV's Andrew Mimhs assertation that "Perception is Reality" question at the Our Kids 1st forum at the theatre last week, it would seem that the perception of a "secret meeting" is not far off base.
In answer to Mr. Burgess' question Mr. Ziegler replyed that the board conducted no business during the hour and a half they sat unobserved in the board room. They did sign papers for the bonding company and also reviewed a pamphlet submitted by Our Kids 1st to the board for "fact verification".
Perceptions aside, the School Board needs to take up some of the slack in how it conducts its meetings otherwise the perception may well become the reality.

Hi Shakes, I'd sure like to see the paperwork on those two lawsuits. As I recall on the first one, the STATE OF NEBRASKA just looked into the issue, no lawsuits. Of course, this didn't stop Marty from MISREPRESENTING the COST at the school board FORUM. You would expect a school board member to at least have a handle on what their lawyer charges, but I guess not.
Is there a second lawsuit? Not from me or anybody else I know of. Getting your information from riseagainst are we? Now, go back and play in the litterbox.
Whoops, I said lawsuit instead of "complaints to the attorney general that incurs legal costs to the school." And I'm sure those are on the books. You can say all you want that costs are being misrepresented from the board, but you are the one that has been misrepresenting this community for years. Generally this is a good community where people take each other for their word, but you seem to think no one can be trusted and everyone in this town is either on your side or corrupt and "out to get you." You've been spreading this virus for years all because you're not as popular as you were in high school because of your daddy. Personally I think you're our local equivalent to Dorr, aiming towards the demise of the public school system instead of what's best for the majority of families.
Where are you getting this "daddy" stuff snaky-poo? The guy is a veterinarian for crying out loud. He didn't belong to any of the "popular" clubs, never went to school or social events and until recently never strayed into politics. I'm terribly sorry you are so jealous of me, it must be hard to live in my shadow. But then again, thats where most annonymous cowards hide, in the shadows.
I got that info from some of your old classmates, interesting how they all say the same thing! Veterinarians are very important people in farming/ranching communities, so not being in the "clubs" didn't matter a whole lot back then. As far as being in your shadow, it's impossible to do that as low as you are. As far as jealousy goes...how full of yourself are you? Oh yeah, you think everybody's out to get you because you are just soooooo great! You can say "don't be so serious" all you want, but at least I am serious about defending an institution that 99% of the population in Ord and the surrounding area send their kids to every day of the week. What have you done that is so great and honorable during the board election and bond campaigns? Wait, you've just sat behind your camera and let everybody else fight for what they believe in. So who's hiding in the shadows?
Have a nice day shakes, your'e starting to sound a lot like old ordneb and the kind of problems you have can't be solved on blog. Have a good life and I'll say some prayers for you, nobody should be as angry as you are over something that won't matter in a 100 years.
Yes, take the "high road" when it suits you best Steffan. I'm glad you are so "above" all the everyday problems of the general population. We need someone to watch us from that Ivory Tower! The only reason I even called you out is because of your actions against the board that are unfounded, just because you think they were out to personally slight you and your family (don't think they would waste their time on you, but that's just me apparently). The thing is if I had half the anger and hate for as many people in this community as you and your minions do, I would'nt be as successful as I am or have the loving family and friends that I have. I guess the proof will be in who has more people show up at their funeral. (Just so you know, you'll have to beat the punch and cookies that will be at mine!)

So Steffan, how does it feel to try and sue the school TWICE and come up empty both times? You would think instead of costing the school more in legal fees by being an idiot, you would try to be a civilized human being and talk to the board first (instead of a lawyer).
