Reward offered for Slain horseWe are looking for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person, or people, responsible for the death of our registered Egyptian Arabian mare, Mei Raja Mir. Our mare was shot between the night of September 28 and the afternoon of October 1, 2008 on our acreage four miles west of Ord and a mile south of the Sargent-Ord Road. Our loss is a significant one, both emotionally and financially. Any information you may have regarding this criminal act would be greatly appreciated by the Domeier family. We are greatly concerned that the person or persons responsible for this heinous act may injure or kill our remaining horses, or the horses on our property that belong to others. Some of the horses on our property are worth a considerable sum of money and the person responsible for this should be held liable for the damages incurred. We are offering a minimum of $500, possibly more, to anyone who gives the Valley County Sheriff information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone connected with this crime. The Sheriff can be reached at 728-3906 or you may call the Domeiers personally at 346-5441.
A Short Aside Concerning
the Domeiers Loss Sally and Jim Domeier are good people and have raised horses in the area for years. It is not only a personal tragedy that this has befallen them but also one in which Ord and Valley county should be ashamed of. The stupid nature of this attack is a black mark on all of us who reside here. Ignorance can be cured, Stupid goes all the way to the bone. We have no lack of sporting events, school activities, musical concerts and things for our children to do in this county without going out and shooting other peoples livestock and vandalizing those things which they depend on to make a living. While the attention of the authorities is focusing on misguided youth, other scenarios are not being overlooked. We really don’t need this type of trouble here folks, if you can help, it would be appreciated, the next time it may be your ox that gets gored. This a sad thing for the Valley County area, and you are right the Domeiers are good people and don't deserve this. Not only should restitution be made, if they are caught, but a couple of years in the pen might not hurt them either.
The only thing I didn't like was part of the short aside that was written. You are blaming a young person for this, before knowing it was a young person.
It easily could have been a young person, but it could also just as easily been an adult.
Wait til the facts are known!!!
