This is a small sampling of the prayer requests that come in to Ordtalk on a daily basis. If you haven't visited the Prayer Chain page yet, take a look. The majority of these come via the Christian Motorcycle Association and anyone is more than welcome to use the site for prayer requests. Katie Blume, from Hampton, Nebraska; 11-year-old daughter of friends of North Platte CMA'ers Dale & Tammy Lake; was extremely injured in a 4-wheel ATV rollover about two weeks ago. In spite of "the usual" in such cases, Katie is still alive. Yes, she has serious complications. HOWEVER.... rather than concentrate on those, let us fix our eyes, our faith, our prayers upon THE HEALER, JESUS CHRIST. He has kept her alive in spite of the "medical" odds -- let us ask Him to pull her on through -- totally healed and knowing personally the One Who has healed her!! I believe that to do anything less is to let Katie down and, even more, is to sell short the POWER, ABILITY, and WILLINGNESS of our God, Jehovah Rapha. Thank you all very much, Linda Lacey Prayer Contact for FLOCK North Platte, Nebraska Miracles Happen-God is good, Vicki Bradley Can you please send out a prayer request to everyone for Randy Harrer? Randy had a very serious surgery on Tuesday to remove his ileostomy and is not doing very well today. He is in a lot of pain and his blood pressure is very high. He is at Bellevue Medical Center, Room 312. Linda says visitation> would be good and to please call her at 402-216-5014 before going to visit. Your Sister in Christ, Nisie "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name!" Psalm 103: 1Region Prayer Family, Please pray for Gary Truitt (MI Area Rep) and his family. His mom Evelyn Truitt is in the hospital in Jackson. She fell on Tuesday and was admitted. Since Tuesday, she has had a heart attack, gotten pneumonia, and an infection in her blood. They have told them they don't expect her to live very long. They have a meeting tomorrow with her doctors to discuss options but mom has told them she wants no treatment. Please pray for the Truitt family as they weather another storm. Jeanette Sheler North Central Region Webmaster Christian Motorcyclists Association Region Prayer Family, Roger had is 2-week checkup today and received a great report from the doctor. The doctor said he has a very strong back for a 67-year old. However, in order to fix the nerve in his back, they had to remove a silver-dollar size hole in the middle of the muscle. This will cause him pain and increase recovery time. Roger had a good day, he’s recovering well, but it will be a long recovery process. He will be returning in 4 weeks for another checkup. Roger still struggles with the distances he can ride in a car. The doctor is 2 hours away, so the drive to see him is extremely difficult. Roger and Rayleen extend their love and gratitude to all for your prayers for them during this time. Rayleen is making popcorn for Roger and some of the neighbors tonight to celebrate the good news! J Thank you all for your continued prayers, and God Bless, Jeanette Sheler North Central Region Webmaster Region Prayer Family, Please pray for Harry Swank.. Many of you know him when he was the SD State Coordinator. See request below: :Please keep Harry and his family in your prayers. Harry had a PET scan done last Monday and found out the cancer had spread to his liver and stomach and is stage 4. He is on a regiment of Chemo every two weeks. We are taking it one day at a time. The Dr would not give a time line except to say "it doesn't look good." We have a peace in the fact that the Lord is still in charge and He will take care of us. Thanks, Mark McCaffery, GI Minutemen Valley County Fair ParadeDoug Smith, Principal, Ord Elementary SchoolPlease allow me to introduce myself. My name is Doug Smith, the new Elementary Principal at Ord Public Schools. I have already met several of you and am planning on getting around to introduce myself personally in the next couple of weeks. As many of you are aware Ord Elementary created the “Junior Chant Pride Program” last year, an educational program designed to encourage kids to “Live Above the Line” and make smart choices. The program is designed to reinforce making good decisions in the areas of the 8 keys to success: Integrity, Failure Leads to Success (learn from your mistakes), Speak with Good Purpose, This is It (focus on this moment), Commitment, Ownership, Flexibility, Balance. All of these things can be summed up into what we visit with the kids about every morning: 1. BE KIND 2. WORK HARD 3. NEVER GIVE UP! Throughout the year students who are “caught being good” are given a slip with their name and the good act they committed. One slip is sent home for the student to show their parents, another slip is placed in a basket to be eligible for monthly drawings. Each student will receive a T-Shirt as a sign of participation in the program. Every 1st Friday of the month, students and staff will wear their T-Shirt and assemble in the gym or little theatre. Students who have been identified throughout the month as: 1. Being Kind, 2. Working Hard, or 3. Never Giving Up, will be rewarded with a small certificate. Through support of local businesses we will draw names and give prizes donated from local businesses such as water bottles, certificates for food, and whatever else we can round up. Businesses that donate $100.00 will have their “logo” placed on the back of the t-shirts as this money will be used to purchase the t-shirts for all elementary students and staff. Businesses that donate prizes and/or certificates will be recognized monthly at the Jr. Chant Pride meetings. Anything you are willing and able to donate is truly appreciated as throughout the year we will also have drawings for more “major” prizes. If you know you are interested in donating to the Jr. Chant Pride Program and I have not been in your business to introduce myself please reply to this email and I will stop in to visit with you. Through the collaboration of school – parents – community, we will continue to educate great young people and build positive character traits that will instill pride in our schools, our families, and our communities. Thank you for your time, I look forward to meeting you. Douglas M. Threw this over into the Vent...I'm going to try to keep the front page positive (boring but positive!) but I understand the sentiment. I look at it this way, its not mandatory that you contribute and its a good use for the bus for evening. You can find the comment that was here courtesy of Crash on the Viral Vent.
