OrdTalk is

EXPANDING!

The News We Have Been Hinting at for Quite Some Time!

Heres the Deal. Several months ago we put in for a fairly substantial grant through economic developement. No interest, no strings attached, just good old Govt. Stimulus Funds available for start up/upgrade in Media. Uncle Sam came through with Flying Colors and we actually got more that we applied for! Courtesy of a creative grant writer we now have funds to hire two FULL TIME reporters here at OrdTalk. We also received money (different grant, same stimulus/economic development money) to set up an RSS Feed that will allow us to real time broadcast everything from the County/City/School Board meetings (which will also be available via Tape Delay), school sporting events (provided we get permission from the school) and your family reunion if you want to broadcast it live!

One thing has led to another there are two more grants on the horizon, one for an online radio station with a 24 hour news feed (via Faux News Network) and the other for links to print media via the internet. Want to read todays Chicago Daily Tribune or the San Francisco Journal, just click the link!

Our sincerest thanks to all of the people at economic development and the grant writers for helping us take this major step forward in news reporting for the valley. As soon as we have figured out what criteria we need to hire reporters we will post an online job application for those interested.

Check back later this afternoon for a look at what OrdTalk will be in the Very Near Future...

(Link will appear at the bottom of this story...)

OK, you got us! Do you really think we would take Government money here? Not a chance! But we are stepping things up a bit with some new cameras and hopefully a little more video of local meetings and such!

I Love April Fools Day!

Hmmm.....is this an April Fool's joke? I still very plainly remember the one last year where you said that OrdTalk was being taken off the web.....

If it's true, I am glad for the increased reporting! I'm a news junkie (there, I've admitted it!), so will be glad for the other online options. Thanks!! (And shame on you if this is a joke!) ;)

This smells very much like last year's "Ord Talk is closing down" post on this very date...

Thanks, Admin! If there's anything that this site has taught me, it's that I need to read/view ANY news source with a careful eye/ear. Think for myself, not to let others think for me. :) Happy April Fools! ;)
