The Markowski Affair, Version 2.0: Comments
Seems that even though they think they can say whatever they want, however they want, even OrdTalk is subject to copyright infringement. Too bad, I'm sure comparing situations in this town to a video of NAZIS AND HITLER is just so hilarious! Wish I could laugh about one of the largest genocides in history, using it to parody a small town squabble. Very classy OrdTalk!
Good Morning Rock, Good Morning Shakes! Hope all is well in your respective worlds today!
Wish we could take credit for this one but I guess blame will have to do. Political satire being what it is, you can still laugh while being jabbed by the pointy end of the stick. As for copyright infringement Shakes, this video falls under the fair use/parody act and YouTube caved. Constantine would have lost it big time in a court battle over this particular clip. And while the Nazis are without a doubt some of the vilest human beings ever to walk the face of the earth, be sure to check out the Armenian Genocide of 1915, the Red Communist purge of 1917 through 1936, the Japanese occupation of China and the resulting Chinese Communist purge leading up to WWII. They all managed to rack up bigger numbers than the Nazis, they're just not as "glamourous". We'll see how long it takes for some anti-free speech bigot to see if they can get this one taken down too.

I notice that whichever one of you responded chose to hide behind the anonymous title of Admin, making us guess which one you are. It really makes no difference as you all should be ashamed of yourselves. This latest stunt, which you manage to perversely rationalize as free speech and satire, has denigrated you all beyond any semblance of decency or civility. Your parents, children, pastors and friends must be very proud. Sadly, I am ashamed to admit that I know all three of you personally. Your behavior is causing irreparable damage to this community.
As I have stated in the past, there is a system in place for those seeking change in the status quo. It is the democratic process of election by majority. No one is asking you to drink any Koolaid, as you so eloquently observe, but if you choose not to offer any alternative solutions by running candidates that support your position, then you have no right to complain.

admin - Apparently along with learning some civility and tact, you need to learn how to read more closely. I said "one of the largest genocides in history" not "the" largest. Nice try at making me look dumb, but you just put me in your rifle sites, turned the gun around and pulled the trigger. Good job!!! I guess in this case I'll be a "bigot" and decide not to take the Holocaust, or any other genocide, lightly. Guess I'll leave that to the "good Christian folks" that run OrdTalk!
Morning Ordneb! In exactly what part of Utopia are you living in? Political Satire is just that, a joke, a cartoon, a video with the barb of truth hooked just inside. The barb usually only pricks those who feel guilty and realize they are on the wrong side of an issue. You remind me a little of the Muslims who have a problem with the Mohammad cartoons, the truth just hurts sometimes but that doesn't mean you ignore it and hope it goes away. Nor do you try to silence the people who are rubbing your nose in what you choose not to see. Just because you don't like, doesn't mean it isn't true. This is just one more tool used in changing the "status quo". Haven't seen any torches or pitchforks from our side yet, just verbal abuse of my children from yours. We're tough though, we can take your temper tantrums. Won't stop us from pointing them out though.
Maybe you have failed to notice that this community is split, and being on the side with about an extra 100 people it doesn't really bother or pertain to you. It does though.
As for Dawn and Clay (gosh Watson/Ordneb, by the process of scientific elimination we should be able to figure out who Admin. is!) Dawn bowed out some time ago when she decided to run for school board. Perceived Conflict of Interest. (see above video for another example of that!) Clay has been expanding his business to the point where he hasn't had time to be involved and will probably drop out completely before the end of the summer. I have always been the active Admin. on the front page and on the Vent. Nothing new here folks, move along.

I had the opportunity to view the video (Another Perspective) of the Markowski Affair. It is absolutely hilarious. Those with a sense of humor will find watching this parody, laughing to the point that tears will roll down your face as it did me. I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes and request your own copy. It's to funny for you to be left out of laughing at this persective of the Markowski Affair.
