With all of the religious ed. events starting to come to an end I would like to say great job to all the volunteers who give their time to help our children grow in their religion whatever that religion is. Also to the ministers, pastors, priest, and sisters, thank you for all your hard work.

If I have missed anyone I apologize, I do not know the titles for the different churches, but please know you are included in this thank you. God Bless and have a great summer!

We have spoken a lot of volunteers and I would like to take this time to say, those of you on the volunteer fire and rescue squad are a wonderful asset to Ord. Small towns depend heavily on you in times of crisis, you do a great job, thank you.

The cub scout leaders did a fine job this year. Congrats to all the boys. I wish I could same about the boy scout program.

It's nice to see the rain. It is really making the grass green up nicely. It's like having automatic sprinklers, watering is free. Although, I would like to see some sun for awhile too.

Burgerboy I agree the boy scout leaders and scouts did a great job this year. Would like to say congratulations to all the cub scouts who crossed over last night to boy scouts. Also a thank you to all the parents who helped provide the food, the night was a great night for the kids.

Special thanks to Father Tom Ryan, who put in a very long day on Sunday. He not only did his Sunday morning masses, he also celebrated with the Cub Scouts.

I would like to thank the county board and the late Wozabs for the funds that are distributed each year for projects in Valley County. This means all lot to our community.

The sixth grade program was very entertaining. Mr. Hill did a fine job again.

Congratulations to Mary Molle on her retirement at the end of the school year. You have dedicated so many years to our youth, and there are no words to express the grattitude. Many years of joy to you and yours. God Bless.

I about didn't make it! Need to post two things since I commented on the Viral Vent twice (self-imposed penance I guess!)

I want to start by saying congratulations to Adam Miller. I know it has already been said, but I don't think it can be said enough. A great character hire for the city of Ord.

Second, I think it is great to see the tractors in the fields running again. Farmers seem to get a bad reputation in the national media for chemicals, modified crops, etc. They never get the credit they deserve for being the hard-working providers that they are, so kudos to them!

To all of the families who go without their mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters etc. because they are serving our country. Thank you, you are not forgotten.

For all of the kids getting ready for graduation from, High School, College etc. GOOD JOB!! GOOD LUCK!! For the parents your reward has come in seeing your kids succeed. After the parties relax and enjoy the peace, you have earned it.

Huskerforlife - Friday, May 1 2009 at 8:52pm

I want to thank all the parents who have taken the time to dedicate themselves to their children's education. It makes a difference that is visible to all.

Huskerforlife - Friday, May 1 2009 at 8:56pm

Whoops, forgot to get two in there!

I want to thank those on this sight who have been open-minded and stayed away from the name-calling and personal attacks. You can really tell what kind of people we all are by what we say when noone knows who's saying it.

Huskerforlife - Saturday, May 2 2009 at 8:23am

Thank you to all those in service positions here in Ord. The Ord Police Dept., the volunteer fire dept., the Sherriff's dept, and the EMTs. They do the jobs that some of us are either too scared to do or just can't do for ourselves.

This will be the last post for me on this part of the site as well, since I no longer want to be part of this site.

I want to say one last thank you to all of those who have volunteered their time to be constructive in this community. Sometimes it isn't easy and that is the mark of a truely good person. I will continue to let others know they are appreciated, but I'm finding fewer people on this sight worth praise. Thank you and goodbye.

Thanks to Jane John at the Diner and the Valley County Historical Society for putting on the Victorian Tea last Saturday. We will look forward to this event in years to come.
