Thanks for getting me on the calendar

Lawman - Wednesday, April 29 2009 at 12:42pm

Yes, Pat Fisher was a good defensive back, especially for his size. I think his brother coached at Grand Island for alot of years also.

I see where Congress is debating the BCS Series. Guess I wonder how they can debate that when then can't even run the government. Sipple has a good article on it in Huskerextra.com.

The Browns acquired Linebacker Bo Rudd from the Patriots, on waivers Thursday. He missed most of last season with an ankle injury.

Be interesting to see how he comes back.

Trev Alberts was named the AD at UNO. Do you think this a stepping stone for himto move to the AD job when Osborn steps down?

Guess my feeling is that this is going to be a trial run for him, to see how he does.

tincan - Friday, May 1 2009 at 11:32pm

Lawman

Looks like the Browns are serious about becoming competitive.

I am a Remington fan to replace DR. Tom. I don't know if the Good Dr. would be looking at Trev to replace him. UNL is alot bigger then UNO.

If you remember Pat, then you remember the DANCING BEAR, McDole. I take it we must be about the same age, if you remember back that far.

Tincan..............Yeah, heck, I even faintly remember the 1941 Rose Bowl....Well, actually, most of it comes from my Dad telling me about it. Had a neighbor whose boy played in that game and was later killed in WW 2. Jack Hazen, if you remember that name. He had a brother, who I knew, that played for the Cardinals.

Yep, I go back a ways!!!!

tincan - Saturday, May 2 2009 at 11:36pm

No Hazen does not ring a bell.

Well maybe you might be a couple of years older then me. I was not alive in 41.
The only pro football player I knew, was McClueghen (I know I misspelled his name).

I remember when college football, the players played both sides of the ball. Devaney's first game I listen to on the radio in the ole hotel that was in Ord, where the bank now sits.

Time does not sit still.

Been pretty quiet over here.....wish I could say the same thing about the vent! Sheesh! :)

tincan - Thursday, May 7 2009 at 11:53pm

Hey Lawman, you all right?

Lawman - Friday, May 8 2009 at 11:42am

Yep, doing good. Yeah it is quiet here, maybe it will pick up. I have about given up on the vent. Pretty much a one man show over there.

Picking Stewart tomorrow night, I think he is about due!!

tincan - Friday, May 8 2009 at 11:44pm

for an owner/driver he is not doing to bad....I guess of the drivers that are out there, I guess I like hime about the best, even though he does not drive a dodge

Lawman - Saturday, May 9 2009 at 12:41pm

I was just reading where Manny Ramirez, from the Dodgers was just suspended for 50 games, for the use of a banned substance.
According to several media sources, the banned substance was human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), a female fertility drug that can also be used as a antidote to diminished testosterone levels at the end of a cycle of steroid treatments.
Apparantly he was given a prescription for this by a Doctor.
You think this was too harsh, about right. or not enough?
I guess I think it is about right, as it will be quite a hit on him pocketbook, by missing the 50 games.

tincan - Sunday, May 10 2009 at 12:58am

I don't think it was enough....Baseball is no longer a pure game, it is all about money by the players. I would be happy to play, if I was younger for 50 grand a year...There are too many pre-madonna's in all sports now, and it is discusting.

tincan - Sunday, May 10 2009 at 6:20am

Well now we have a NASCAR driver suspended because of drugs
