I'd be willing to help, but like tincan said, there are quite a few events happening with lots of different sports. Or did you just want something local (Legion baseball, etc....then in the fall - football, volleyball, etc.)???

Give us some direction, admin - - we're pretty creative over here. :)

admin - Friday, April 24 2009 at 12:22pm

Ask and it shall be done oh Sports Fans! Behold! The New Sports Calendar! Link is located on the sidebar, at the top and at the bottom of the pictures. Email me and we will put you in as a calendar user and then you can post events on the calendar to your little hearts content! Or, if you don't want to do it yourself, send me an email and I will put it on for you. First really important Sporting Event...1910 ORD TIGERS take on the FARWELL FENCEBUSTERS in Farwell on June 14th at 1:30 pm. After this post on the calendar nothing else really matters does it?!

Lawman - Friday, April 24 2009 at 3:46pm

How the heck do I log onto the calendar? Won't take my user name or password.

Lawman, we put you in as a user so you should be good to go on the calendar. Just click on the date wanted and it will bring up a window that you can post in.

Heres a list from several years ago of everybody who played when we first started the Vintage Base Ball team. The ones with the asterisks still play, the others when they have the time. We are approaching 10 years of vintage ball, have played at the college world series, been on youtube and made the national news on at least two occasions. The Ord and Ft. Hartsuff teams joined a couple of years ago because it was hard to keep two teams going at the same time, but it works. When you ask for the "new tigers" lineup, do you mean the over 18 team that is just starting or the vintage team? I'm not sure what the new hardball team is calling itself, but I would hope they would stay away from the "Tigers" just to avoid confusion....

tincan, will get that code to you on Monday for the calendar, have to wait til the teenager gets back from Kearney...!

Lawman - Sunday, April 26 2009 at 6:38pm

Talk about action, we sure got it in the race this afternoon. Glad no one was hurt on the track. Guess there were 8 people hurt in the stands from the Edwards wreck with a couple taken to the hospital. Sounds like the most serious injury was a broken bone.

Nice to see three Nebraska kids drafted this afternoon, with Glenn, Sluason and Murtha going. .

Lawman - Sunday, April 26 2009 at 6:39pm

Admin.................they are the Cubs......

tincan - Monday, April 27 2009 at 12:18am

Did I mess up, calling them the tigers?

I am a little disappointed at how the draft of Nebr players went. I thought some might have gone a little higher on the 2nd day. I know I am selfish, but I was hopping Joe did not get drafted. I want him on the Nebr. coaching staff as a GA. I beleave he would make a better coach, then a NFL player.

I have been to Talledaga for a race, and they were all stretched out, and it was rather boring. I guess today was the exception..

huskerfan09 - Monday, April 27 2009 at 11:24am

Whoa what a race it was! I thought for sure Junior and Newman were going to get it all, but then here comes Edwards and Keslowski (sorry on the spelling)....I didn't like it that Keslowski turned Edwards, but I can't blame him, either. I'm surprised Newman was able to finish where he did after Edwards hit him on the drivers side like that. Glad that everyone (people in the stands, included) was ok - in the interviews afterwards Edwards looked really shook up. Feel bad for him - I think that it may have given him a reality check, that he's not invincible.

On to the next race!! :)

Lawman - Monday, April 27 2009 at 2:05pm

Yep, Edwards would have been fine, if he hadn't tried to block Brad on the high side..If he had stayed low, Brad couldnt have gotten around him on the high side.

Four of the Big Red to free agency. Lucky to Cinci, Potter to the Jets, Swift to Denver and Peterson to the Jags. Haven't heard anything about Ganz yet.

Lawman - Monday, April 27 2009 at 3:37pm

Looks like Ganz signed a free agent deal with Tampa Bay..
