The Viral Vent: CommentsOh yeh, one other thing, SPRING FOOTBALL begins. Speaking of things getting better..... What is the deal with drugs in the 8th grade!!! I thought the school board/superintendent/principal were always telling us what a great system our local school provides. Our children should have a safe environment to learn. 8th graders with drugs are not safe. I suppose despite the "zero tolerance" we will get to cheer them on at track meets. Quick, close the Class 1's so there are more customers..... Dr.s Resighn >> Hospital builds new Building with out Voter APPROVABLE Now where has this come from?? Somebody HAS TO GET A I lived in Ord for a while and lived in the area most of my life; I moved away and after reading this blog, I again know that I made the right choice. Same ole, Same ole..no one can get along with each other. People excusing people of wrong doing but no one ever doing anything about it. Everyone complaining that there is no jobs but no one does anything about it and if they do someone else complains about it. If it's not the school making waves, then it's the police or city officials and if it's not that then it's the hospital. Come on people there is more to life and if you want Ord to survive then quit your fighting. bigmug, jab_gone Tincan.....................................we agree on one thing.............. tin can oops sorry tin can didn't mean to do that chantite- as to drugs in our middle school (8th), this is exactly what I have been talking about, the drugs in Ord, and in Valley County. This influence is brought by trickle down. I will give you an example in trickle down in reverse. The 8th grader when found to have illegal drugs, was questioned as to where they got the drugs, and who introduced them to them. The response was they had got them from an older sibling, and/or older friend. Who then was questioned, where they got the drugs, and who introduced them to the illegal drugs. Also presenting an argument that the illegal drugs are ok, everybody is doing them. The response continued to be that they obtained them while attending an after hours party, where they observed people who are supposed to be leaders within the community, as well as holding positions of stature in federal government jobs giving the appearance to the adolesence that illegal drugs are ok. And that their parents, grandparents, teachers, school counselors, principal, school superitendent, church groups, 4H, FFA,and the law enforcement community are all stupid, retarded, and uncool. To take this example a step further, the purported leader of the community, having influence over the police dept. (in order for them to keep their jobs) uses the police dept. as an early warning instrument and protection to continue to sell the illegal drugs. Not a bad little gig to subsidize one's income at the price of our young folks. Parents and teachers can not fight this battle alone. We must have competent law enforcement within the city and county to protect our children from these preditors... The most proven and the most effective method for combating this example is through the federal RICO laws. I am told by the US attorney that all we need is 15 affidavits stating how the above example operates for a presentation to a grand jury for an indictment under RICO. We already have 9 of the 15. I guess I fall in the classification of retarded, stupid and uncool. rock Lawman, Lawman, Rock................. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!! Tincan...........yep, I hit Lincoln Journal Star blogs about every morning to see what's new in Husker football, altho it is quiet this time of year, but will pick up when spring ball starts. Also like Husker Mike's Blashpemy, he does a good job. Behind Enemy lines- A Huskerh8ter's view of the world, was also fun reading and contributing. He could get your blood boiling. He closed it down the first of the year, guess it got to be taking up to much of his time. I think it is still up, just no activity now. But, if it is still there, you can take a look and let your blood boil too. lol. gyp- RICO does apply. RICO is not just for the John Gottis of the world. It applies where two or more people conspire to engage in unlawful activity, particularly elected public officals conspiring with law enforcement officals to circumvent the law. The proof is in the statements of affidavits that can be stated to the US Attorney, along with the Postal Inspectors, and in the phone records. Honesty? Are you referring to my statements to the board, about selective enforcement in the city. Like when I had to dig up and remove irishes that I had planted on the corner because they grew over 18 inches tall, while we have other corners within a block of my home that are totally obscured. Or are you talking about the city not allowing truck parking in the industrial part of town after a banker bought a piece of property there and decided he didn't want the trucks parked there, resulting in the city revoking a 30 year verbal agreement. Is 8th grade kids being introduced to drugs ok with you? Now you be HONEST... Does that word apply to people who live their lives in the daylight working their US government jobs, working in city government, but by night under the cover of darkness live their lives as substance abusers and encourage others to engage in the same? 3-rock - Sunday, March 15 2009 at 7:57pm The hospital didn't throw anyone out- Dr. Dan having such a large patient clientel, that it was becoming difficult for him to personally manage his patients at his office, as well as the patients at the hospital. Dr. Dan practices a more personal one on one type of medical care rather than an don't know you, don't care, show me the money assembly line type of medical care. Fact check here rock, the hospital board did vote to revoke both of the Stevens' hospital privileges, effectively kicking them out the door on their own. Their patients helped them set up a private clinic over that weekend so they could be open for business the following Monday. This a repeated pattern with this board, look at Dr. Blake. Iraqi War Veteran, $200,000.00 plus home purchased here, husband a school teacher in Loup City, and kicked out of the nest because she disagreed with the hospital board on whether we needed a bond. Check up and see how many doctors, nurses and support staff have passed through Valley County Health systems in the past five or six years...the numbers will scare you. serenity - fact check well taken. Yes, there has been hoards of doctors, etc. that have flowed through this hospital. That's why I do not patronize the hospital or their clinic. I simply don't care for the don't know you, don't care, show me the money type of assembly line medical care that the hospital provides. I also took exception to their ads in the newspaper, saying meet your doctors (most were just p.a.). Implying that I don't have a choice... As a final word, my youngest boy had an injury to his hand on the weekend, which necessitated a visit to the emergency ward. The female doctor in attendance attempted to stitch up the injuries after several painful attempts (4hrs later), she stated he's lost alot of blood, take him to Kearney. She took out the stitches, she just put in. Requiring an ambulance ride, due to the amount of blood that was lost. The attending physician in Kearney, was astounded by the amount of tissue damage that had been done to the hand in the attempts to stitch it up. Those injuries far exceeded the original injuries. The Kearney doctor stated she was over her head. Amazingly, they still wanted paid for this lousy butchering job. We would have been better off if in the first place, we had just taken him to Kearney, as it wasn't life threatening then. Only after 4hrs of blood loss did it become life threatening. rock,
Let me understand what you are saying, the town is getting better, okay.
1. police chief resigns
2. school board builds building when the voter disapprove by voting
3. hospitol throws a couple of doctors out
4. city council has a problem child on the board
5. city father/lawyer has legal problems
6. taxes, taxes, taxes
this is from someone that grew up there and left and looks from the outside in today. Have a married friend that graduated with me, gave up on the town and moved away. She lived there all her life. Oh, by the way, she and none of here family was into local politics.
I hope you are right, the town is turning for the better..
