Let me get this straight...
Shakes and company believes that it's good that "...mostly Ord Natives are moving to Ord and starting families at a higher rate than they have in recent history?" He/She/It makes no mention of the other young couples other than Ord Natives? Is this typical thinking of the Boss Hog clan??? It's all about keeping control. Rock's words and actions are inclusive to all. What's wrong with that?

tincan - Sunday, August 15 2010 at 12:53am

OrdFF
I do not accuse anyone of anything unless I know it for a fact. Like I said, I don't know Shakes, so why would I accuse him of drug use? All I know is what everyone writes on here, as far as I am concerned, alot of it is BS. Ord use to be a great towm to life in, and to me it is going down hill. This is my opinion, I maybe wrong and others I am sure will tell me so. Times change all over the country and I do not beleave it is for the better. Ord is no better. Any more, all I see is people looking for power to be big shots in what ever political arena that they may be in. I don't figure you are all that old, but Ord was really a nice town to live in, in the 50's and 60's. Don't know about the 70's cause I was not in Ord. So maybe you and all the others that post on here may have an idea where I am coming from when I post. Just remember change is not always good, other times it is great.
Oh, yeh, I don't always agree with rock, but my gut fealing is he truely beleaves in what he beleaves and will try and do something about it.

sting - Sunday, August 15 2010 at 11:04pm

Tincan, Ord is a nice town to live in. It can and will be better once the patrimonilism, nepotism, and cronyism cease to exist. I have known rock for years. Your gut feeling about him is correct.

tincan - Monday, August 16 2010 at 4:15am

sting, yes there are alot of good folks in Ord. As you know it only takes a few rotten apples to spoil a basket. I don't think I know rock, I have been gone for along time. I try to get back once a year, don't think I will make it this year. The town has changed alot. I and all my roudy friends you to drive back and forth with our cars from the Luthern church to Rywiches, parading our cars, then end up at the drive in where my girl was a car hop. So that should give you my age a little.
Hope you had a good weekend.

rock - Monday, August 16 2010 at 6:55am

Shakes, I have never said everyone in public office is crooked. I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth.

Tincan,Ord is still a nice place to live. We still have some issues to overcome. I am sorry to hear that you may not make it back to Ord this year. When you do get back to town, please stop by we will take a drive down memory lane. We'll probably have to forego seeing who can lay tire black marks the longest across the river bridge. We'll see if we can scare up an old fashion fountain style cherry coke.

I would like to thank City Council Member Stunkel for taking his time to personally check out the requests for reduced speed limit and stop signs on P,Q,R and S Streets between 14th and 7th Streets. Council Member Stunkel informs me that this Wednesday, August 18, 2010, 7:30pm there will be a special city council meeting to discuss this request. I urge everyone to attend even if you do not live in this area, your voice and attendance may avert a tragedy.

Here's my original post:
rock - Saturday, July 17 2010 at 3:02pm
This past week I delivered to Council Member Roger Goldfish a petition bearing 39 signatures of residents from the east side of town, between 14th and 7th Streets on P, Q, R and S Streets requesting reduced posted speed limits and stop signs at intersections. Recently we have had 2 near misses of children nearly getting hit by high speed traffic. We have 3 daycares in this area. When the children are taken out for walks they have to walk in the street due to lack of sidewalks. This is also true for our senior citizens taking walks, with additional foot traffic and bicycle traffic to MNIS for our special folks. These streets are carrying heavy volumes of traffic, to include trucks many of them at high speeds to the Loup Valley REA, county yards, bus barns, Nebraska Central Railroad, etc. We also have several young families with children that have recently moved into this area. This petition is an attempt to be proactive before an accident occurs, rather than reactive after a tragedy.

tincan - Monday, August 16 2010 at 11:53pm

Rock,
You remember the drag races across the river bridge. Also we had the lines painted across the highway out by the airport. Yep, cherry cokes at Ringline's and Carson's. The good ole days, huh? If I get a chance I will see about looking you up, next time in ord. If it is cool enough maybe I will bring my charger, my wife does not do hot weather real well.
Take it easy Rock

rock - Tuesday, August 17 2010 at 8:19am

Shakes, Check out the front page. Now maybe you will understand ..."however some of this economic development went to a privileged few praticing patrimonilism, nepotism, cronyism and outright theft that is embedded within the city government. Once we eliminate the privileged cronyism that is embedded in the city government we would have a real true positive outlook for the future."

Today August 18, 2010 at 10:57 am, I received an official phone call from Postmaster Dan Petska stating this call was being recorded. Postmaster Petska stated the purpose of his call was to inform me that what I was doing was ILLEGAL. My illegal activities were described as...the petition, which I delivered to Council Member Goldfish was not delivered to him but to his mailbox...and that the flyers I took around to the residents of P,Q,R and S Streets from 14th to 7th Streets, were also delivered to the mailboxes, (flyers informing the residents of the special meeting of the Ord City Council this evening, concerning reduced speed limits and stop signs on P,Q,R and S Streets). (Not all of the flyers were put in the mailboxes, only some of them that I could not put in the door). This call was a warning to cease my ILLEGAL activities. Since Postmaster Petska was recording the call, I added a few comments for the record, acknowledged his warning, bidding him a good day, additionally stating I will see you tonight at the board meeting, and I hope you will be sober.

So folks, it appears as thought I may have broken the law, maybe even a felony. I will have to turn myself into the Postal Inspectors for due and diligent punishment.

sting - Wednesday, August 18 2010 at 5:55pm

I guess Danny Boy didn't like rock pointing out that the PMS Tree Service trimmed Council Member Petska's trees with no power lines involved. In appreciation for his motion to approve the conditional use permit for PMS's $100,000 real estate deal and Danny Boy's yes vote.

Rock, didn't Danny Boy want you arrested for making a false report of a possible drunk driver when you seen him staggering across the street to his pickup, getting in and starting the pickup? Remember that's when he got the cell phone call, telling him that he got turned in and was heard on the police scanner.

irish one - Wednesday, August 18 2010 at 6:28pm

Rock, there is a US Postal Service Regulation which prohibits flyers and such from being put into residential mailboxes. The normal way things are handled is to send out a standard postal letter informing the person. The Post Office would have considered this to be very minor; especially what the flyers were all about, protecting kids. It's not Post Office policy for the Postmaster to sit in his office turn on the speaker phone and record the call.

You've got some p'd off cronies. Goldfish is p'd because it's been pointed out that he had PMS cut his little boys trees down at his house back when he was mayor. Then PMS used city equipment, poles and trucks to build his garage back when Goldfish was mayor. Oh let's not forget when you pointed out that one of the MNIS people nearly got hit on his bicycle on the corner by Goldfish's house because his trees need to be cut down or put up stop signs. You pointed out Danny boy getting his reward for voting for PMS's real estate deal.

I urge everyone to read the Ord Quiz, Vox Pop, August 18, 2010, page 3B by Curt and Susan Schauer. This is a very worthwhile article to read.

Curt and Susan Schauer experience first hand the patrimonilism, nepotism, and cronyism of the Boss Hogg and company, to include attempted public humilation. This is standard operating procedure for anyone who opposes the hog and clan. Standard operating procedure is to attempt to make those in opposition appear crazy, nonsensical and/or on the fringe. Superintendent Paul Markowski made it clear at a recent city board meeting just what the cronies think of the Ord tax payers, they are as low lifes. The two minute limit has been implemented since that board meeting, Mr. and Mrs. Schauer; it has been used upon my visits to the city board meetings, upon me. Strange, I had a two minute limit, but Superintendent Paul Markowski (giving his Markowski meltdown) did not. This is just another tool to silence the opposition to the Boss Hog. Keep up the good fight, as their greed is their own worst enemy.

sting - Wednesday, August 18 2010 at 11:13pm

Rock...You law breaker. Their point is you are no better than they. They see it as no difference. You may be guilty of putting flyers in a few mailboxes to help protect the kids, elderly and the special needs people while they steal and manipulate thousands of dollars for their own individual benifit. In their minds they gotcha. You know who I am and you know where I live. I expect you to surrender your person, upon doing so I will transport you to the appropriate authorities (this isn't in my jurisdiction)for adjudication. NOT... Boy, they sure are grasping at straws.

sting - Thursday, August 19 2010 at 12:18pm

Rock, the disinformation campaign is in full swing; around town I heard that Guy Brock wants the daycares moved out along with the beauty salon in your area, you are going to be arrested for a felony, that you are bashing the city workers as being lazy and worthless. Guess who the sources of this information are? I'll give you some hints: one's a drunk, one's a thief, the other one has permitted thieving in the past to get jrs. trees cut and last but not least by any means one has three lots of used implements and junk.

rock - Thursday, August 19 2010 at 1:34pm

Sting, I have never said or thought the city workers were lazy or worthless. I have privately talked with many of the men. Many of them know what is going on with some of the supervisors is wrong, but they can't say anything or it will mean their jobs. They have to hush up and ignore it. Some of them have furnished lots of information of even more corruption then what I have found already. There was a brief discussion last night about moving the daycares and the beauty salon out. If memory serves me correctly, this was brought up by Council Member Petska. The folks in attendance (the neighbors) said that wasn't necessary, what was necessary was stop signs. The only purpose that was raised was to create strife. As to me being arrested for a felony, it appears irish one was correct. My conversation with the postal authorities indicates that this should have been handled by a standard form letter being a very minor incident, with the added comment that it was mistakenly done for a good reason and not solicitation for profit. The conversation continued that there appears to be an over zealous or ulterior motive at work here for the recorded phone call. I suggested the Napoleon Syndrome. The last one you refer to sting was PMS and Danny boy's last nights cheering section...Story to follow.

rock - Thursday, August 19 2010 at 8:52pm

Part 1
Wednesday, August 18, 2010 special city council meeting was indeed special. This special session was for hearing public opinion for speed limit signs on P,Q,R and S Streets and stop signs. Members of this board that were present were Council Members, Jade Stunkel, Roger Goldfish, Dan Petska, also present was Police Chief Adam Miller and Council Member Butch Koehlmoos. It is notable that Council Member Butch Koehlmoos is not on this particular board, but was concerned enough to attend and participate in the discussion. I want to commend Jade Stunkel and Butch Koehlmoos for their obvious concern and believe these two gentlemen will address this issue. There were approximately 12 concerned citizens at this special session. Those that spoke were of the same opinion that something needs to be done about the speed of the traffic, the truck traffic, and the safety of the children around the daycares. Council Members Stunkel and Koehlmoos promised further investigation. I believe these men are sincere.

The other notable events were a verbal exchange between Council Members Roger Goldfish, Dan Petska and me. Council Member Goldfish for some reason took issue with the petition and/or its form pointing out that some of the signatures did not have zip codes and that I did not deliver the petition to him...I put it in his mail box. I pointed out to Council Member Goldfish that many of the folks that signed the petition were elderly and may have left off their zip code...I continued asking does it really matter you got the petition with 39 signatures asking for some attention on this issue. Council Member Goldfish then stated..."You said you delivered it to me you didn't...you didn't you put it in my mail box." I became agitated at Council Member Goldfish's obvious nit picking over the lack of the elderly folks including their zip code and the manner of my delivery and addressed him head on...asking are we here to discuss the lack of the elderly's zip codes, and how I delivered the petition to you or are we here to discuss children's safety?

rock - Thursday, August 19 2010 at 9:07pm

Part 2
I continued with my voice reflecting my disgust for Council Member Roger Goldfish, as well as my agitation, and stated you (since he is supposed to be representing this ward) should be doing this...You drive up and down Q Street everyday and don't even notice the muddy conditions on 10th where 83 year old ladies are falling down in the mud because there was no gravel on the road so the neighbors have to come up here to ask for it...You can't see the heavy truck traffic...the kids playing in the street...your trees on 11th Street are part of the problem blocking the corner...(Council Member Goldfish is mumbling this entire time) at this point Chief Adam Miller intervened, getting the subject matter back on track. The next notable exchange was with Council Member Dan Petska. I believe he again brought up the delivery of the petition to Goldfish's mail box and some of the flyers placed in mail boxes... to include some rambling about parked vehicles on Q Street. Clearly the mission of Goldfish & Petska at this special session was to take issue as to my delivery method of the petition and some of the flyers, and not children, elderly, and special needs peoples' safety. One additional person raised and spoke, after getting his Q from Council Member Petska. Wesley Albright spoke rather incoherently...something to the effect that ordtalk should be stopped...or ended...or shut down...something to that effect, but nothing added to the subject matter at hand. Wesley then returned to his seat in the back of the room, cuddled up next to Superintendent Paul Markowski. Wesley Albright is a resident on P Street, located on the south side of the street between 11th and 12th, where Council Member Roger Goldfish once referred to that area as a "Used Farm Implement Dealer"...imagine that.

sweetpea - Thursday, August 19 2010 at 9:58pm

Wesley, eeewwwh. uck disgusting! This guy thought he was a girls' baseball coach. He was a touchy feely kind of weirdo. He used to stand behind us girls wrap his arms around us, and try to show us how to hold the bat and swing. ooohhh nightmares (PTSS) very scary! What's really scary is the girly pics he used to put up in his front window??? That's just wrong on soooo many levels!!!

sting - Thursday, August 19 2010 at 11:17pm

Sweetpea, That's the best PMS & Danny Boy could get for a cheer section? Couldn't you just picture this in a cheerleader skirt? WOW!!

Rock, Was Danny Boy sober?
