The Viral Vent: CommentsPart 2 Rock, Loyalists to boss hog may not be so loyal. Information is obtained, wait.......wait........wait..........patient...........patient......thenGOTCHA...........be sure your sins will find you out. There are some messes you just can't fix or cover up. Oh what a tangled web he weaves. Ord Quiz, August 4th, page 3A, "New Blood in Valley County" Falcon, Rock could have dipped a couple of cats in some red paint and flung them up against the side of the bus as it raced back and forth in front of his house! ☺ No ordnebby. I wouldn't do that to our feline friends, however I would do it to a child abuser. I would even pay for the opportunity to do that. We are losing quite a few people here in Ord in the next 30 days or so. Heres a list of the ones I know...feel free to add more if you know of them. I would pay to see rock swinging nebby, the child abuser by his heels and slamming him into the side of the Bohemuth. Nebby could be the real chicken permanently molded into the side of the bus. Steffan, add to the list of people that are leaving Ord - Darwin (Doc) & Connie Fread (1 child). On KNLV website, Duane commented about Caleb Polard's article "New Blood in Valley County." Duane referenced SAFFPopulation which cited an estimated population of 1,990 for 2009 (with the loss of 23 more people, that does not speak very well for the build it and they will come theory.) Considering when we moved back home to Ord, the population was around 2,269 according to the link. When I left the pop was 2410. I will urge people to take a look at the young people that are moving back the last couple years, though. Many haven't had kids yet and are planning to. Just off the top of my head I know of about 7-8 couples that have either had or are expecting their first kids and a couple more that are on their second or third. It doesn't matter who you are, it should be encouraging to see that. Think of it this way; at least now there are going to be young people to keep the arguments going when we're all too tired and old for it! Shakes, one thing about these young people that have had kids or are planning to have kids, they will not be able to have the delivery in Ord. They will have to go elsewhere for their delivery. No baby deliveries at Valley County Health Systems. This is in addition to a large portion of the local population that have been excommunicated and denied access to the County Hospital that is on our tax rolls. rock - Switching topics again, eh? Some things never change! Answer this: What does people coming back to town have to do with where their children are delivered? How does one affect the other? Would it kill you to look at the positives those young people bring instead of using it to instigate another argument? If you ask me, the reason no one came back for so many years was because of the attitude towards "newcomers" people like you portray and now that is starting to be outweighed by opportunity! Shakes, as sting previously said, "Leave it to Shakes to speak out of both ends at the same time." When was the last time that the Bureau of Vital Statistics recorded a certificate of normal birth from Ord, Valley County, Nebraska? Where is it all of these young couples from Ord have gone to have their children? Broken Bow...Kearney...Grand Island...and why? My whole point, dumbasarock, was that young people are coming back and doing their part in helping ord grow. My comment had nothing to do with where they are born, but where they are living. Part 1
The label Boss Hog is obviously derived from the former TV series "Dukes of Hazard". A short porky little man through manipulative influence controls the functions and lives of those in the county of Hazard. Those that oppose the Boss Hog are pursued by him and his cronies for destruction and financial ruin. I can already hear the "Duha rock", we know that... This nostalgia lesson is for those that did not get to enjoy the original TV series of many years ago to the parable of the present day in Ord and Valley County. I always had trouble with the idea that one individual could wheel enough influence to manipulate various people and boards to do his bidding, believing most people can and will do their individual thinking and not be molded to someone else's thoughts because they believe he knows best because he is a lawyer. Boss Hog does not stand before crowds trying to sell a particular idea. He is more like a puppeteer controlling the movements of his minions who have little understanding of the issue at hand, but just know that the Boss Hog wants it done for whatever reason that may be. The rewards for doing the boss's bidding can be great, (I.e. a $100,000 real estate deal with a wireless company for one of his minions that pursued the shady real estate deals for the Ord Dome). Then by having another minion remain silent (over an obvious conflict of interest), while the city gets the bird (that story is shortly coming).
