PMS calls this affair, the 1105 G Street trimming. I went down there. I can see that there was nothing cut on the 1105 G Street side. It's all on the 1103 G Street side - PMS side. Because PMS calls it the 1105 G Street trimming, we're supposed to believe him, what BS. Come on PMS give us the PMS excuse why senior fixed income ladies have to pay for their trees to be trimmed and you get your 1103 G Street property done at tax payers' expense.
When slum lord PMS collects his rent does he drive his Mercedes around town to do it, or the city furnished pickup? hmmm? I talked to one of his renters, he drives the city owned pickup. That's what he was doing the Saturday before the tree trimming was done. 1 & 6 year plans applies to all of us, but not him. It's more like 1-6 days plan for him.

Rock,

I stand corrected, it was a mistake I was thinking inches and wrote feet, I apologize. Inches and feet is quite a bit different and I didn't mean to write feet.

I did assume that because the pictures were in your investigative report that you would know if it was in fact city-owned equipment in the pictures. I'm sorry for making such assumptions.

On this very special day, I wish all mothers a very happy Mother's Day.

Irish one, thank you for your comment. Its not hard to fiqure this out if you just go look. PMS states that he saw 2 dead branches in the third tree, but all the trees were trimmed on the east side. I heard that the city spent 8 hours on this job, can you imagine 8 hours to cut 2 branches that they broke off with their bare hands. pay raises for everyone.

Goldfish had city crews cut many trees down to the ground at his son's house. He claimed they were in the power lines. It looked like to me that the power lines were across the street. Trimming the trees should have been enough, but these trees were cut completely to the ground. If these city people can get their trees trimmed, why can't the city cut the trees down to the ground that's hanging over Q Street for Susan? Isn't the kid's safety at the Kid's Zone as important as Goldfish's son? Like irish one said, why does Edna Whitmore have to pay to have her's removed when Goldfish's son doesn't?

I had the opportunity to view the video (Another Perspective) of the Markowski Affair. It is absolutely hilarious. Those with a sense of humor will find watching this parody, laughing to the point that tears will roll down your face as it did me. I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes and request your own copy. It's to funny for you to be left out of laughing at this persective of the Markowski Affair.

Seems that even though they think they can say whatever they want, however they want, even OrdTalk is subject to copyright infringement. Too bad, I'm sure comparing situations in this town to a video of NAZIS AND HITLER is just so hilarious! Wish I could laugh about one of the largest genocides in history, using it to parody a small town squabble. Very classy OrdTalk!

Good Morning Rock, Good Morning Shakes! Hope all is well in your respective worlds today!
Wish we could take credit for this one but I guess blame will have to do. Political satire being what it is, you can still laugh while being jabbed by the pointy end of the stick. As for copyright infringement Shakes, this video falls under the fair use/parody act and YouTube caved. Constantine would have lost it big time in a court battle over this particular clip. And while the Nazis are without a doubt some of the vilest human beings ever to walk the face of the earth, be sure to check out the Armenian Genocide of 1915, the Red Communist purge of 1917 through 1936, the Japanese occupation of China and the resulting Chinese Communist purge leading up to WWII. They all managed to rack up bigger numbers than the Nazis, they're just not as "glamourous". We'll see how long it takes for some anti-free speech bigot to see if they can get this one taken down too.

admin - Apparently along with learning some civility and tact, you need to learn how to read more closely. I said "one of the largest genocides in history" not "the" largest. Nice try at making me look dumb, but you just put me in your rifle sites, turned the gun around and pulled the trigger. Good job!!! I guess in this case I'll be a "bigot" and decide not to take the Holocaust, or any other genocide, lightly. Guess I'll leave that to the "good Christian folks" that run OrdTalk!

hunter4766 - Thursday, May 13 2010 at 2:25pm

I am opposed to Admin's portrayal of nazis.
Even though I cannot view the video, my computer is too slow.
I believe it is uncalled for to compare them to nazis.
Cross dressing robber barons would be better.
Note the several county wide mailing that just went out, the hospital printed and distributed thousands of pictures of their men in dresses.

admin - Thursday, May 13 2010 at 2:41pm

I am currently looking for cross dressing robber baron videos, not having much luck as the only thing I can find are stills. Will keep trying...

admin,

think you forgot Pol Pot in cambodia

crash - Sunday, May 16 2010 at 5:53pm

Not to change the subject (this Big M stuff is really interesting .... can't wait to see how the B M movement comes out) but does anyone know what's behind the VCH admin request for the county to tear up and remove the "old" hospital parking lot?

Someone should write a grant to study concrete in the state. I think nobody pours more cement per capita than Valley county (or should I say Ord).

sweetpea - Tuesday, May 18 2010 at 9:08am

I drove by Susan's Kids Zone. I see PMS has'nt trimmed any of the trees there. Some look like they are leaning and could fall into street. Rock, did the mayor or PMS say when they were going to trim those trees? Is PMS going to have to pay the city back for his tree trimming or use of city equipment?

rock - Tuesday, May 18 2010 at 2:14pm

Sweetpea, No dangerous tree removal on Q Street or 11th Street is being done by the city crews as of yet. Mayor O'Brien says that PMS removes trees all over the city that pose a danger to the public on public right of ways. I am sure that sometime we will be seeing some activity soon. In my view the dangerous trees are on the city right of way and need to be completely cut down, not just trimmed. I am told that there is a power struggle between Mayor O'Brien and PMS, as to who is in charge of the city. I am told PMS is sulking over the recent spotlight that has been put on him and he is refusing to cut the trees down on Q Street and 11th Street. As to PMS reimbursing the city for his personal tree trimming job at his income producing rental property, I have not heard anything. Considering the mayor's statement that there was no power lines involved in the tree trimming of PMS income producing rental property, I am sure that the mayor will require reimbursement. We will just have to wait and see if Mayor O'Brien can address the Markowski Affair and what the mayor's legacy will be.

Mr. Universe - Friday, May 28 2010 at 10:58am

Markowskis listing some rental properties with Wolf. Hmmmmm... Maybe the upkeep and cost of maintenance has gone up in the last few weeks and he can't afford to hire help.

Mr. Universe - Sunday, May 30 2010 at 7:37pm

According to KNLV the hospital director resigned...effective immediately! Golly jeepers gosh, I wonder what the reason could be, perhaps he wants to "spend more time with his family".

rock - Monday, May 31 2010 at 12:52pm

Mr. Universe, Every business owner's dream: revenue flowing in with no expenses...or in the alternative someone else pays the expenses. In PMS case the tax payers paying for the upkeep on the rentals. Could this be why we have received assessed tax valuation increases to cover PMS expenses, the mega ord dome and the new hospital?

Another hospital director resigns...? Does he see the future as many of us predicted, that the new hospital will end up on the tax rolls too? Maybe this is an opportune time...to sell the hospital...?

Here's an update on the Markowski Affair. Taking Markowski up on his invitation to check out the public records concerning his real estate deals has revealed some notable issues. The most striking is the fast track Mayor O'Brien put on the Markowski/Viaero Deal for PMS financial benefit. Maybe that's why 3 council members voted NO for the conditional use permit for Viaero and 3 voted YES, giving Mayor O'Brien the tie breaking vote in favor of Markowski. More on this later, I am waiting on some additional documents as per my request to the mayor that was omitted from my original request. Imagine that, could this be more Irish River Dance from Mayor O'Brien?

Anyone else have a chance to read the Omaha World Herold this morning...

7 year old dies from injuries suffered from falling branch.

I also found it interesting to note that a city the size of Omaha only needs an equivalent of 7 full time employees for tree removal.

Falling tree branch sparks concern
